Microsoft Says Its Forthcoming Machine Learning System Can Automatically Detect Between Security and Non-Security Software Bugs 99% of the Time

Microsoft claims to have developed a machine learning system that correctly distinguishes between security and non-security software bugs 99% of the time, while accurately identifying critical, high-priority security bugs on average 97% of the time. The model Microsoft developed trained on a data set of 13 million work items and bugs from 47,000 developers at Microsoft. It has been designed to enable organizations to distinguish between security bugs and non-security bugs without having to hire a workforce to accomplish the tasks. Microsoft plans to open-source the methodology on GitHub, along with example models and other resources over the coming months.

Cybersecurity threat remediation provider Dtex said it had raised $17.5 million in a new round of funding led by Northgate Capital with additional participation from existing investors Norwest Venture Partners and Four Rivers Group. This latest round values Auth0 at $1 billion, and it brings its total capital raised to about $210 million.
